Announcing BetterCloud’s New Integration With Workday

Manual onboarding and offboarding processes can be time-consuming and costly. Without automation, IT faces an uphill battle to ensure that incoming employees have a smooth onboarding experience, while also preventing departing employees from creating data and security risks as they leave your organization.

In the 2021 State of SaaSOps report, 52% of IT professionals said manually onboarding and offboarding users was their most crucial challenge to solve. This is just one reason we’re excited to announce a new integration with Workday, the market leader for cloud human capital management (HCM).

With this release, BetterCloud can help you take a big step towards a zero-touch IT reality. Events in Workday HR can now trigger your onboarding and offboarding workflows in BetterCloud and automate the configuration of user settings. 

More productive new hires on day 1

Starting today, you can use our Workday integration to kick off your existing onboarding workflows. To trigger your onboarding workflows, BetterCloud will listen for events such as new user creation in Workday and status changes to “active.” 

Let’s say, for example, that you’ve hired a new product manager. When you enter the job title
“Product Manager” into that user’s Workday profile, your BetterCloud onboarding workflow will automatically grant them access to the right applications and files, such as Microsoft 365, Zoom, and Slack. This ensures new employees get access to the most relevant SaaS applications and assets on their first day—all without waiting for IT to complete several manual and time-consuming steps. 

Fewer errors in offboarding

When HR changes a user’s status changes to “inactive” in Workday, your offboarding workflows will be automatically initiated in a timely manner. 

The offboarding workflow above modifies user’s permissions or revokes access in the other applications & files. This reduces risk of data leakage from incomplete offboarding processes.

Centralized user data and information

BetterCloud’s new Workday integration gives your entire IT team enhanced visibility on user information throughout the BetterCloud user grid and User 360. You can see how all your  Workday accounts interact with the applications in your SaaS portfolio and manage them proactively. IT admins have a single pane to understand how an individual user interacts with all their applications.
