This week we heard from Ronald Haagensen, Sales Manager at Avalon, a European reseller, to find out more about his organization.

BetterCloud: When was your organization founded?

Avalon: Our business started in 1997 as a consulting firm for systems development. In 2008 we became a Google Enterprise partner and decided to focus on full scale cloud services bringing value to our customers by both delivering software and providing consulting services.

BetterCloud: What led to the founding of your company?

Avalon: We felt there was a need for a company in Scandinavia that wanted to help clients implement innovative technology solutions. We chose to focus specifically on Google because we truly believe in their technology and its ability to transform the way people work.

BetterCloud: How has the market changed since you started as a Google Apps reseller?

Avalon: Scandinavian companies were a bit slow to implement cloud solutions, but the market is changing. Today, organizations more readily consider cloud systems as alternatives to on-premises solutions and we only expect this trend to continue.

BetterCloud: Does your company have a certain speciality – Industry? Location? Size?

Avalon: We work in all industries across Scandinavia and look to serve more countries and regions in the coming months and years.

BetterCloud: Can you tell us one thing about your company we wouldn’t find out from your website?

Avalon: We have nearly 300 team members who are all passionate about helping our clients embrace the cloud and achieve higher productivity.

BetterCloud: What is your favorite BetterCloud feature? Why?

Avalon: From an information security perspective, our customers really appreciate the full control BetterCloud provides over Google Drive – both in terms of visibility and the ability to configure Drive sharing policies. Other favorites include email tools like inbox delegation, email signatures and auto-replies. These tools make life as a Google Apps administrator easier.

BetterCloud: What do you hope to see from BetterCloud in the future?

Avalon: As it becomes more important for companies to keep social networks under control, we hope to see more Google+ functionality. Today some companies fear deploying Google+, but if BetterCloud can help make it more secure, we believe companies would feel safer rolling it out to their employees.

BetterCloud: What do you hope to see from Google Apps in the future?

Avalon: We hope Google Apps continues to innovate and provide market leading tools for the workplace, starting with feature enhancements to Google Sites.

BetterCloud: What are your company’s plans for the future

Avalon: We have built a unique competence when it comes to implementing cloud solutions and we aim to expand our business to more markets.

BetterCloud: Favorite cloud service your company uses, other than Google Apps?

Avalon: BetterCloud, DocuSign, Salesforce.com and Cloudfinder – innovative products we believe add to workplace productivity.

BetterCloud: What’s the best thing about working at your company?

Avalon: We have an open-minded atmosphere and everyone works hard to help our customers collaborate and work more efficiently in the cloud.
